As you all already know if you follow along with my blog and you know me at all, I’m a Turbo addict. I am currently on my 6th week of strictly Turbo Fire alone. I did do a bunch of the workouts all mashed together when I got it, and I did replace the ChaLEAN Extreme cardio for Turbo Fire workouts when I did that “hybrid”. But I’m now focused on following the schedule of Turbo Fire alone. So yes, I’m in my 6th week. Now, most people would be tracking their progress within every 30 days, however I found that i was sort of driving myself crazy in that aspect with the other hybrid, so I promised my partner that I would not do any measurements or photos of any sort until the full 12 weeks are over. Well, I have to admit, I did cheat (woops) and I did do a waist measurement this weekend and through Thanksgiving and Christmas and the New Year, I managed to NOT gain any weight (which I already knew that) but I have also lost 1.5″ on my waist in 6 weeks. Now this may not really seem like a ton for some of you that are like, “omg I want HUGE results, not even 2″ in 6 weeks?!?!??!!?” but you must remember, that I’ve met my weight goals, I have nothing left to do but lose a couple (and when I say a couple I seriously mean less than 5) inches in my waist, I dont care if I lose anymore weight, and I’m just about building muscle. So yes, 1.5″ is a huge thing for me right now where I’m at.
Now, I always thought that I’d be able to jump right into Turbo Fire after truly being a Turbo Jam success story, and it’d be no problem. But, do not doubt me when I say IT IS INTENSE!!!!!!! I hear a ton of people laugh off Turbo Fire, becuase its’ “not P90X” or it’s “not Insanity”, well let me tell you that this is a truly intense program. I work my tooshie off with EVERY single workout. But, the beauty of Turbo Fire, is that Chalene Johnson went WAY over her budget (another woops) on MUSIC!!! Yes, way over budget on music. So I’m doing this crazy intense cardio, and I’m like okay I’ve had enough I can’t (YES the dreaded CAN’T) do this anymore, and then I hear… “Boom I got Yo Boyfriend.. I got Yo Man…” and I’m like oh this is my JAM! And my energy just took a double shot of espresso and here I go ready to push on. I get finished and I’m dripping sweat and my body is tingling and I’m loving every minute of it. Not to mention, singing the rest of the day.
Okay, so now I’ve gone into all the details of how I feel when I’m doing it, when I’m done, my “results” but, what’s the true thought process behind Turbo Fire I’m sure is your next thought. And if it’s not, well then Im going to tell ya what it is anyway. With Turbo Fire you have multiple different HIIT workouts that bring you to your highest peak of energy for a minute, and then down for a rest period, and again back up for another minute, and back down, etc. These workouts consist of a 15, 20, 25, & 30 min workout. Now the key behind the HIIT workouts in Turbo Fire is that you are exercising for a shorter period of time, but you are working harder in that shorter period of time to burn off as many as you would in a normal cardio. I remember the first time I did a Fire Drill I put my Bodybugg on AFTER my workout (yes I should’ve worn it while, I forgot) and I sat down on the couch with my computer. In one single hour of doing literally “nothing” that was any sort of exercise, I burned 163 calories. That’s insane – for doing NOTHING! Wow.
