Want to know the number one form of exercise I actually HATE doing? RUNNING. Yes, I said it (and all the runners reading this are gasping and going, well why what huh??) Sure, I’m not a huge fan of Yoga (I can’t sit still that long) and the thought of Zumba has never thrilled me enough to even try it, but running is my enemy. I’ll admit, since the weather has been nicer I’ll pretend I’m a “runner” and head out to clock a 1.3 mile run in 20 minutes (yeah I said it) but, who am I kidding? I’m just not a runner!
It’s hard to be a fitness coach and group exercise instructor and support those of my friends and customers that are runners because I don’t get it. I admit, I understand the “high” it feels good to get out there and just be alone with the iPod for awhile hitting the pavement, but making yourself sick to just go a LITTLE further and hit that mile goal. I don’t know, I just don’t get it! I’m thankful that in my motivational Facebook group, there are a bunch of runners to support each other because I’m useless when it comes to that subject. I can’t tell you what kind of running skirt is the most comfortable, or which shoe won’t give you blistered, and I really don’t understand the drive to run a marathon. But, that’s what my runner friends are for right?!
In honor of National Running Day I will go home today after work, throw on my Nike Shox and hit the pavement around my neighborhood with some Flo-Rida jamming in my ear. I urge you to get out and run today too! Once you have completed your run – go to my Facebook Page, hit like and comment below with your distance & time and you will be entered into a giveaway for a nice little gift basket!
