#EatLiftBeHappy ~ Ch. 2

Happy Halloween Beauties. I love Halloween. It’s always been one of my favorite holidays. This year we didn’t go out to a party or a bar or anywhere for that matter, but that doesn’t mean this mama doesn’t get dressed up for the kids’ parade at school and trick or treating! (Sucky part is that it’s always so cold here so the “cutsies” are out the window as soon as I hit the outdoors). Thanks to #EatLiftBeHappy, I enjoyed this holiday with the fam without feeling guilty one bit.

Tomorrow begins a new month and today actually rang in a new phase of #EatLiftBeHappy. (ICYMI here’s Ch. 1) October had me a little crazy. I transitioned into a new phase of ChaLean Extreme called Push Circuit and I love lifting heavy so it’s my favorite. Various body sections on different days, focusing solely on a specific muscle group at a time, lifting super heavy, slow, and minimal reps. I felt like such a weakling when I started the month, not gonna lie. The process takes time and I’m not seeing a lot of results and change yet, but definitely feeling it by the end of the month. All of my weights went up and that’s the main goal, to get stronger right?

Nutrition was pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I’ve become extremely aware of my macros and it helps already with intuitive eating. I’m not at expert by any means and I still drive my coach crazy on the regular with questions, but it’s getting better. I don’t dislike weighing out my portions because it is making me smarter about what I’m putting in. (If you’re not ready to get really focused on macro counting and hate weighing things, lets talk about the container system that makes nutrition super simplified while still getting great results). I’ve been fairly accurate with the macros and still giving myself days where I have a few drinks or enjoy a dinner out without thinking about logging it into MFP. That is intuitive eating for me. I want to be able to make my own decisions, not get crazy, and still see results.


In October I also had my Mirena IUD removed. This has been interesting over the last couple of weeks. In week 3 of my workout schedule, this zapped my energy a lot. I still got my workouts in and tracked but they were weak and not to the best of my ability. I’m really hoping that removing the IUD helps me out in the weight loss area over time (go read the post where I talk about the Mirena & weight issues). Again it’s a process and I’m taking my time. So far I have lost about 4 pounds over all and I’m okay with that because my inches are coming down as well.


The Push Circuit is my favorite and I almost talked myself into a second month before moving on to Lean Phase, but I wanted to do ChaLean Extreme as created first, and then I’ll go back and lift some heavy shit #wink. November is the Lean Phase and instead of just one muscle group at time, legs and arms and back and core are all blended together to work multiple groups with each exercise and lift.   Today was day 1 and I swear I did about a billion bicep curls and I’ll be feeling it HARD tomorrow. I don’t even want to think about trying to get out of my bed in the morning because the legs got it pretty good as well. Also since it is the Lean Phase I’m going to add in a second day of cardio. (WHAT?) Yes you read that correctly, even though I would rather jump off a bridge than do cardio, I’m going to do 2 days of cardio a week. Our newest cardio program Core De Force just launched TODAY and I’m really excited to add the MMA workouts into my strength schedule.

That’s pretty much my #EatLiftBeHappy Chapter 2. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with my body for this “last” circuit (don’t read that as LAST because I’m not done lifting, ever.. but just for the round schedule of ChaLean Extreme).
