5 Must Read LadyBoss Books

by Wednesday, September 21, 2016

How exciting it is that you’re a woman in business hustling for your vision!  That my dear deserves an applaud (#SlowClap for you!).  You can read all of the technical articles on how to grow your social media presence or listen to as many podcasts how to climb the corporate ladder or watch as many webinars on building your blog as you want, but let me be clear with you:  If your mind isn’t right, you’re not going anywhere darling.  Truth stings a little, I know,  but it’s the truth.  I never thought I’d be reading one of those “self-help” books, but here I am sharing with you my favorites.  It’s more important to focus “Woman First. Boss Second.” (thank you Cara Alwill Leyba for the reminder) than all of the hoo-dats and what-dids, when building your empire.  That’s why I’ve gathered my 5 Must Read LadyBoss Books that have made an impact on my business and my mindset.

5 Must Read Lady LadyBoss Books

“GirlCode: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity, and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur” – Cara Alwill Leyba

Instead of comparing, competing and battling, she shares advice and stories of connecting and coming together as women to build connections. Why? Because there is room for success for all of us. This book will not teach you business practices or systems to build a billion dollar business. It will teach you to build confidence in yourself, focus on your “why”, & learn the power of connection.

Not only did Sophia Amoruso create a phenomenon of #GirlBoss culture with the release of this book, but it quickly became a number 1 seller for women working their own hustle. Sophia built her million-dollar plus online fashion empire, Nasty Gal from the ground up. While Sophia was working on overcoming a reckless past & selling vintage clothing on eBay working every bone in her body, she was focused and driven on creating an international fashion brand as the least typical CEO you could imagine. In her book, Sophia shares personal stories that seem to hit us all as we are working on creating our empires. Don’t expect all rainbows and butterflies because Sophia lays out a no bullshit attitude on creating success in life. “… trust your instincts and follow your gut.. knowing which rules to follow and which to break..”
